Redken Powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder Review
I’ve recently opened my eyes to the world of hair powders. Powder can do so much for hair: add fullness, freshen up/remove oil, add texture, etc. Redken powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder does just this by creating instant fullness and texture with a matte finish. In just seconds, powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder can provide tousled texture without product build-up when used as directed to prep hair for updos, and extend the life of a blow-out.
Powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder is the newest addition to Redken’s Style Connection Collection, a groundbreaking collection for dramatic texture transformations with unique formulas. A little powder goes a long way: a very small amount can take your look from flat to full and provide targeted modern matte texture and body. Shake it directly on the roots for targeted volume or rub into your hands and work it through to the ends. I was recently given an opportunity to try this powder and I love the compact size of the container, ease of use, and effectiveness.
“To me, powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder is genius – it creates maximum hold and volume, yet is so lightweight it feels like there’s nothing in your hair,” says Rodney Cutler, Redken Brand Ambassador and Owner of Cutler/Redken Salons. “The result is this larger-than-life texture that I could normally only create for my clients by layering in both a volumizing product and a hairspray. It’s the perfect solution whether you’re trying to achieve beachy texture and separation or build the base for a long-lasting updo, yet is easy to apply at home or on-the-go.”
Redken Powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder is a definite new staple in my haircare regime for days when I want a little extra ‘oomph’ or just need to freshen up a limp style.

Redken All Soft is All New: Get softer hair instantly!
Like Redken All Soft? You’re going to love the new products that have been added to this popular Redken line. NEW All Soft Supple Touch, a softening cream-spray for dry/brittle hair and NEW All Soft Argan-6 Oil, a multi-care oil for all types of hair (and especially dry, brittle hair) are two additions to the All Soft line.

NEW All Soft dramatically transforms the texture of dry, brittle hair. Argan oil-enriched formulas restore hair’s protein, comprised of keratin, for renewed elasticity and intense softness. After just one application of All Soft Shampoo, Conditioner and Argan-6 Oil, hair is instantly softer with 15x more conditioning. I am most excited about the All Soft Argan-6 Oil, which takes advantage of beauty’s hottest new product, Argan oil, to nourish and strengthen dry, brittle hair.
New All Soft features the Keratin Enrich Complex that works with IPN to rebuild hair’s protein, comprised of keratin, restoring elasticity, suppleness and shine.
How does it work?
- Moisturizing Factor: Composed of Sodium PCA and Arginine, it works to replenish and maintain essential moisture balance in hair’s keratin for increased strand pliability
- Argan Oil: Omega-6 enriched fair trade argan oil penetrates hair deep within the cortex to replenish lipids and deliver intense, luxurious softness
- Interlock Protein Network (IPN): Redken’s exclusive IPN seals the cuticle with a hydrophobic barrier and locks in key ingredients, while reinforcing hair’s internal support for resilient flexibility
The Redken All Soft collection runs from $13.50 to $29. Find out more about All Soft at redken.com or at a Redken salon near you!
Look Like Selena Gomez – Super Shiny Hair with Redken
Has anyone ever noticed how shiny Selena Gomez’s hair is? I recently stumbled upon the picture to the left, and noticed that even while signing autographs on a casual day with her hair pulled back, Selena’s hair looks awesome and healthy!
You too can get a look like this with Redken’s Shine Flash 02. This product is a super-light aerosol shine mist that illuminates hair with brilliant sheen and a silky feel. The weightless formula gives a light, clean application to all hair types. It’s super important to use a product that feels comfortable to apply and does not weigh hair down, especially in the summertime. I received a sample of this and can say that this product really works. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that it does not do much to tame flyaways, however, and will not smooth hair. But, if shine is what you’re looking for, Shine Flash 02 is definitely one to try.

Redken Real Control Slim Supreme Slimming Serum Review
Redken Real Control Slim Supreme is one of my favorite new hair products. Slim Supreme is an awesome slimming serum (similar to Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum) that works to smooth hair and prevent frizz. As part of Redken’s Real Control line, this product reduces excessive volume, adds shine and resists humidity.
This product is perfect to apply to damp hair right before blow drying to prevent a poufy, frizzy look. Hair dries sleek, smooth, shiny and controlled. I have long, thick, wavy hair and it works wonderfully keeping everything in check.
I prefer this product to the majority of shine serums that I have tried. I strongly recommend trying out this product, as I think it would work for many different hair types. Slim Supreme is sold at Redken salons nationwide.
What is your favorite shine or slimming serum? Does Redken Slim Supreme make the cut? Let me know your thoughts!
