Best Facial Cleansing Wipes – Neutrogena vs. Simple vs. Pond’s
As busy as I am it’s hard to find time to sleep and eat, let alone set aside time every morning and evening for an intense skincare routine. Skincare however is something I don’t think any girl should skimp on. Healthy skin will go a long way in making you look younger; more refreshed, and even make you feel more confident! I started using wipes at night to just take off makeup, because it was faster than wetting my face, washing it, and drying it, but now I use them at night, in the morning, or anytime my skin needs a little pick me up! I have tried a plethora of wipes, and here are some of my likes and dislikes:
Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes – Pink Grapefruit
Neutrogena is one of my absolute favorite brands. When walking down the skincare isle, the promises on each of the packages may seems enticing, but beware! Many of the products are filled with oils, perfumes, and dyes which break skin out, and cause irritation. I recommend all of Neutrogena’s products for people with sensitive skin, just because they are extremely selective about what they put in. I bought these cleansing wipes after trying the pink grapefruit acne wash. I of course loved the smell, which everyone raves about, but washing my face is just not my favorite thing. These wipes are super-fast and easy, remove oil, and dirt from pores, and leave your skin fresh and clean. Perfect for people who have acne prone skin, and they are very easy to travel with! The big thing that sets this wipe apart from others that I have tried is its gentle formula. Other wipes would irritate my eyes or noise, but these wipes leave no residue and leave me feeling spotless and refreshed!
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
I bought these wipes after having some irritation with a more powerful acne wipe. The gentle alcohol free formula didn’t sting my eyes, but the fabric the cloths are made out of irritated my skin and left me feeling rubbed raw. I was originally intrigued when I read on the packaging that it would remove waterproof mascara, but I soon found out that that claim was quite untrue. It will take off most of my makeup, including mascaras, but anything waterproof it will just smudge. The thing I did like about these however is that unlike many of the competitors is they have no scent. When I was a kid I was extremely allergic to bees, so anything scented I couldn’t wear. If you for some reason prefer an unscented wipe, this one may be for you!
Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes
This has been one of my least favorite purchases of all time. Not only did this product not do ANY of the advertised features, it broke me out, and irritated my skin. The towels aren’t as moist as towels from other brands, and therefore you aren’t getting as much product. The wipes didn’t take off any of my makeup, and left a strange residue. Not only that, 5-10 minutes after I used the wipes, my entire face started burning, and I actually had to wash my face again. Only a few times have I only tried a product once, but in this case I didn’t want this anywhere near my skin again! The only redeeming feature I found of this product is that they smell amazing, and I would definitely try other Ponds products in the future.
Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Soothing Lotion Review
I have been super happy using the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Soothing Lotion line, the ultimate solution to combat redness, dryness and sensitivity in just one week. My sensitive skin is definitely a fan of this collection. This revolutionary daily moisturizer transforms skin, instantly calming with its unique chamomile and feverfew blend – actually decreasing skin’s sensitivity over time.
I received some samples and have been using this for a little over a month. I have definitely noticed an improvement in my skin’s hydration and no negative effects that would normally come from using a moisturizer.
Available in two soothing formulas’ including:
- An oil-free lotion with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 – perfect for everyday use and outdoor winter activities – to protect skin from the sun’s damaging rays
- A rich cream to keep skin smooth and supple – great for night use!
Great work, Neutrogena! I will definitely keep purchasing this product once my current supply runs out!

Review: Neutrogena Skincare for Itchy, Dry Winter Skin
Neutrogena is one of my favorite brands, so I was happy to receive the opportunity to test out some of winter products. My favorite Neutrogena skincare product is their traditional Body Oil ($9.99-15.99 at most drugstores). Neutrogena® Body Oil consists of a lightweight sesame formula that quickly soaks into skin without a greasy feel. I apply it just after getting out of the shower and my skin feels comfortable and soft. There is also a fragrance free version for people who desire no scent. I do like using body oil instead of lotion because I think it is more like skin’s natural moisturizing process.
Additionally, Neutrogena® Hand Cream ($4.99) is a great option for dry hands. It does not feel greasy or oily at all and you only need the smallest amount to moisturize. I wouldn’t recommend this for severely dry hands, but for most people, this hand cream is great for winter use.
Neutrogena also offers a Lip Moisturizer with SPF 15 and Moisture Wrap Body Lotion as part of their skincare line to combat dry, itchy skin.

Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss Review
I am a big fan of Neutrogena products. Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss is one of the better drugstore glosses that I have encountered. A while back, Neutrogena repackaged and adjusted their lip gloss line, and I think the changes were for the better.
The shade I currently own, Nutri Berry, is a shimmery warm pink. It is slightly opaque gloss loaded with good ingredients like Soy Bean oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin E, Evening Primrose oil, Sunflower oil, Tangerine oil, Rose Flower oil and Aloe Barbadensis.
At around $8, this affordable gloss is a good one to try. It comes in a sleek rectangular tube and is available at drugstores nationwide.
Neutrogena Rapid Clear and On-The-Spot Acne Treatment Reviews
My current skincare regimen consists of Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion, Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment, and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I feel like my skincare troubles are in check at the moment and I have to thank these products. My skin is combination and acne prone.

I use Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion during the day under makeup, as the 2% Salicylic Acid clears pores and smooths skin. The On-the-Spot Acne Treatment is perfect for an all over nighttime treatment, and I find the 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide to be more effective than stronger levels of the same.
I will keep my fingers crossed that these products continue working this well for me in keeping my skin clear!

Hayden Panettiere’s Clear Skin Secret – Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil Free Makeup with MicroClear Review
How does Hayden Panettiere get that crystal clear skin? As a Neutrogena spokesmodel, Hayden Panettiere claims to love Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil Free Makeup with MicroClear Technology because it makes her skin “look amazing, and thanks to MicroClear, breakouts are gone” – but how does Neutrogena’s newest anti-acne makeup really stand up to unbiased testing? This product alone is certainly not enough to treat acne. It provides sheer-to-medium coverage, and must be blended fully to look natural. Also, there is no SPF in this, so be sure to apply sunscreen before putting this on (or after, if you use powder sunscreen). Once again, as a treatment in itself, I think it provides little help. But, it is better for acne-prone skin than other liquid makeup options. To sum it all up, I think Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil Free Makeup is fine to use in conjunction with a blemish treating regimen.
Have you tried this product? What liquid makeup do you think is best for acne-prone skin?
