CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipcolor Review by Emmaleigh

Growing up, I had always admired women who had donned vibrant, gorgeous lip colors. Something about sporting a bright lip just seemed to exude confidence, which is something I believe many women strive for. After seeing a brilliantly done advertisement featuring Drew Barrymore, I had decided to go pick up a few shades of CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipcolor.covergirl lip perfection

My first thought was that I was skeptical on how vibrant that the actual product itself was going to be, as you can’t tell from the packaging the actual color of the product itself. Upon opening the shades that I had bought, which were Temptress (400), Fairytale (405), and Hot (305), I was pleasantly surprised by how intense the colors actually were. The lipstick applies very smooth and evenly, and feels like silk on your lips.

It has a very strong staying power, which I believe is great for the working woman looking for something longer lasting, and it is very moisturizing! I recommend one of the three shades I picked up for a pop of color to wear to the office, or one of the brand’s more neutral colors, such as Delish (255), to have a polished look even while out running errands.

There are 44 shades in this line, with colors to suit your specific needs! They run $6 a piece, which I believe is definitely worth it for the quality of this product! Check out all of the shades available at covergirl.com.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm Review by Marlena

For years, I wore nothing but clear lipgloss. I don’t know what it is, but I never really got into using color on my lips. One day I noticed Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Flame on clearance at my local beauty supply store and for some reason, I decided to pick it up. After I did my usual makeup routine on the following day, I figured why not try it out?Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm and Stain
When I first opened it, I was a little nervous about exploring this bright red color, but I figured I could just wipe it off if I didn’t like it. This product comes with two sides- the stain on one side, and the balm on the other. There weren’t any instructions on it, so I wasn’t sure which side I should apply first. After some speculation, I figured it would make the most sense to apply the stain first, so that’s what I did. The application is really simple, it’s almost like using a marker. The balm helps to add moisture and complete the look.

Overall, I really love this product. The color is great, and it lasts all day without any need for touching up. It’s also great in the sense that it doesn’t come off while eating or drinking. I absolutely adore this product, and it is now my everyday lip color.

Mary Kay’s Black Liquid Liner Review – A Surprisingly Easy Application

mary kay liquid eyelinerA friend attempted to introduce me to Mary Kay’s Liquid Eyeliner years ago but I nonchalantly waved her off.  A self-proclaimed klutz, I figured that I could never apply liquid eyeliner without looking like a raccoon.  I recently tried again and was pleasantly surprised at how easy the application actually turned out to be.

Feeling like a makeup application expert, I even applied the liner to my bottom lash line and it quickly dried to a natural looking finish.  An added bonus is that the product is advertised as being suitable for sensitive eyes.

At only $11, it is absolutely worth trying. You might surprise yourself and convert to liquid liner after all.

You can find Mary Kay Liquid Eyeliner at MaryKay.com or through an Independent Beauty Consultant near you.

Mally Beauty City Chick In the Buff Shadow Palette Review – Neutral with a Twist

A makeup enthusiast, I usually gravitate towards smokey eye and vibrant eye shadow colors and there has always been a dividing line between my daytime/work makeup and the makeup I am excited to wear at night and for special occasions.

mally beauty in the buff eye palette

I came across Mally’s City Chick In the Buff Palette and assumed it would safely fit in the daytime category with all my other neutral shadows. I was happily mistaken. The colors range from light neutrals (work appropriate) to darker sparkly browns that made my brown eyes pop. I used the darkest shade, Chocolate Diamond, as a liner and it immediately intensified my nighttime look. At around $50, some may think the palette is pricey, but considering that you get a shadow primer, a two sided quality brush, a mirror and eleven eye shadows all packaged in a trendy green snakeskin case, the price is actually a bargain.  No more clutter in my makeup case because this all-encompassing palette is now my go to for all of my eye makeup needs.

I am thrilled with this product and there is nothing neutral about that.

NARS Illuminator: Better than the Original

NARS Orgasm blush is an award winning staple with a cult like following. I tried it a couple years ago in an effort to understand what the buzz was about. How exciting can a blush really be? One swoop across my cheeks and I was hooked. The color instantly woke my face up as I stood before the mirror smiling while “I Feel Pretty” (my theme song of that moment) played in my head. The color works just as well on my brown eyed/brown haired, olive complexion as it does on my blue eyed, blond haired, fair skinned sister. The color really does work on everyone.  An added bonus is that the product lasts forever and a little goes a long way. My only gripe is that if I am having one of those never ending days and I still want to glow by dinner, reapplying is a must.

Until now.
nars orgasm illuminator
During one momentous stroll through Sephora, I stumbled upon the NARS Orgasm Illuminator. Basically, it is the liquid version of the Orgasm blush advertised as a highlighter. I have used it under my bronzer, coupled with the powder blush or even alone without a stitch of blush, bronzer or foundation. A tiny dab is all you need and it stays on until you take off your makeup at night.  It is nothing short of a makeup miracle.

NARS Orgasm Illuminator retails for $30.00 at Sephora stores and NARScosmetics.com.
