I am a huge fan of Mad Gabs! I first became familiar with the brand many years ago as I wrote in to a contest in a magazine and won a tin of their mint lip balm. I am thrilled to have gotten an opportunity to review Mad Gabs products for Dolce Beauty because I remembered how much I loved that lip balm. I’m pleased to say, their products still do not disappoint.
My new favorite lip balm is Mad Gabs Coconut-Lime Wildly Natural Lip Butter ($3.50). This Coconut-Lime Wildly Natural Lip Butter is a stick of smooth, soft lip butter that smells like a tropical getaway. I love their simple, natural ingredients: Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Natural flavor, Mango Butter, Vitamin E.
If you like a little color with your moisture, you may be interested in one of Mad Gabs’ Wildly Natural Lip Glosses, or their Bear and Moose Lip Shimmers. I really like the plum shade, as it’s the perfect natural lip color for my complexion.

I, like many makeup addicts, am a sucker for lip products. I collect them in ridiculous amounts; balms, glosses, sticks, stains… you name it, I’ve got it. So, on a random shopping trip to CVS recently, the new Revlon ColorBurst Lip Glosses in their sleek and elegant packaging caught my eye. I just had to have one!
For my own sake, this time I did not buy my normal shade of bubblegum or Barbie pink. Instead, I chose “Papaya,” a rich coral shade that looks like it would be perfect for summer. I really like the consistency of ColorBurst Lip Gloss because it is not sticky and feels very smooth and light. There isn’t really a noticeable scent and there is no flavor to this semi-opaque gloss. Best of all, I don’t have another color like it, so it was NOT a waste and won’t be sinking to the bottom of my lippie drawer.
Usually, you can catch these on a BOGO sale or some other good deal at the drugstore, so I would wait until a good Revlon sale comes to your local store before snatching these up. However, all in all I think they are a safe bet for a decent drugstore gloss. I am a big fan of Revlon products, and I think they’re definitely on the higher end of the drugstore variety. For less than $10, you can’t go wrong here.
What do you think of Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss? Have you tried these yet?

I am a big fan of Neutrogena products. Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss is one of the better drugstore glosses that I have encountered. A while back, Neutrogena repackaged and adjusted their lip gloss line, and I think the changes were for the better.
The shade I currently own, Nutri Berry, is a shimmery warm pink. It is slightly opaque gloss loaded with good ingredients like Soy Bean oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin E, Evening Primrose oil, Sunflower oil, Tangerine oil, Rose Flower oil and Aloe Barbadensis.
At around $8, this affordable gloss is a good one to try. It comes in a sleek rectangular tube and is available at drugstores nationwide.
My lip gloss checklist is slightly demanding. In a quality gloss, I look for fun colors, easy application, cute packaging, non-sticky feel, pleasant fragrance (if any), and decent wear time. Benefit Ultra Shines Lip Gloss definitely meets this criteria.
I recently purchased the Dancing Queen shade, a flirty Barbie pink with slight blue-based shimmer. Benefit describes this color as a “Watermelon Pink”. I love the awesome thick packaging, brush applicator wand, and of course amazing color. Ultra Shines are, of course, ultra shiny, but non-sticky and feel pleasantly thick on.
At $18, Benefit’s gloss is slightly more expensive than my usual choices, but the perfect shade is close to HG status. Have you tried this gloss? What is your favorite lip gloss at the moment?
