I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of The Seaweed Bath Co., Adam Grossman, at the Natural Products Expo last year. I was blown away by Adam’s story of battling psoriasis and eczema, and how he created his line of products to naturally heal and manage his skin issues.
I was excited for the opportunity to test out the Wildly Natural Seaweed Argan Shampoo, mainly because it is sulfate free and has an amazing Eucalyptus Peppermint scent that smells amazing. My scalp can be occasionally troubled, so the all-natural formula featuring seaweed extract, argan oil, vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5 is very soothing to my skin. II was very surprised that this product foamed up a great deal in the shower, because normally the sulfate-free products that don’t have other chemicals in them tend to remain sudless.
My hair did not feel stripped or dry after using this product. Overall, I think this is a fabulous shampoo and will continue to use. I am also excited to try other products from The Seaweed Bath Co. line!
What are your favorite sulfate free shampoos? Do you have any recommendations for troubled scalps? Let me know!
When my usual shampoo started leaving my hair dry and straw-like, I decided it was time to look into a more moisturizing product. I was browsing my local beauty supply store and saw Ion Repair Soultions Effective Care Shampoo was on sale. On the bottle it reads “Strengthens and Moisturizes Weak, Damaged Hair 100% Vegan.” It’s not often that I run into a personal care product that advertises being vegan, so I was intrigued and decided to try it out. I’m very glad I did!
This product has been a true life-saver for my hair. The shampoo is rich and creamy, and it has a scent that is similar to creamsicle ice pops. I wasn’t necessarily thrilled with the scent at first, but it isn’t overpowering, and I grew to love it after a couple of washes. After just one use, I noticed a major difference in the texture of my hair. I was even able to skip conditioner completely, which is something I’ve never experienced before!
If your hair is experiencing some dryness, I strongly urge you to give this product a try. I’ll definitely be stocking up on this shampoo the next time it goes on sale.

I’ve recently opened my eyes to the world of hair powders. Powder can do so much for hair: add fullness, freshen up/remove oil, add texture, etc. Redken powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder does just this by creating instant fullness and texture with a matte finish. In just seconds, powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder can provide tousled texture without product build-up when used as directed to prep hair for updos, and extend the life of a blow-out.
Powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder is the newest addition to Redken’s Style Connection Collection, a groundbreaking collection for dramatic texture transformations with unique formulas. A little powder goes a long way: a very small amount can take your look from flat to full and provide targeted modern matte texture and body. Shake it directly on the roots for targeted volume or rub into your hands and work it through to the ends. I was recently given an opportunity to try this powder and I love the compact size of the container, ease of use, and effectiveness.
“To me, powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder is genius – it creates maximum hold and volume, yet is so lightweight it feels like there’s nothing in your hair,” says Rodney Cutler, Redken Brand Ambassador and Owner of Cutler/Redken Salons. “The result is this larger-than-life texture that I could normally only create for my clients by layering in both a volumizing product and a hairspray. It’s the perfect solution whether you’re trying to achieve beachy texture and separation or build the base for a long-lasting updo, yet is easy to apply at home or on-the-go.”
Redken Powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder is a definite new staple in my haircare regime for days when I want a little extra ‘oomph’ or just need to freshen up a limp style.

According to Giovanni’s website, LA Hold Hair Spritz offers “Extra hold non-aerosol finishing spray. High shine.” These claims are accurate, and I’m a fan of this Giovanni hair spritz. I was looking for a non-aerosol hair spray for travel purposes, and stumbled upon this one at my local CVS (or Walgreens, not sure which one really). I have previously used Giovanni shampoos (not my favorite) and conditioners, so I was familiar with the line before purchasing this product.
I really like the idea that the products are organic, great smelling, and actually work. I also like that this has great hold, similar to my L’Oreal Elnett, except non-aerosol and actually smells good. It is affordable; not the cheapest but certainly not on-par with high end lines. I think this spritz was around $6.
I’m a fan!
