Best Waterproof Mascara – Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash Review

I went on a quest for a waterproof mascara recently, and a wise MUA at the store suggested Smoky Lash by Make Up For Ever. I have limited experience with Make Up For Ever products, but out of those I’ve tried, I’ve usually been pleased.  I really wanted something that was going to stay put in the melting sun and pool weather that is soon approaching.

According to Make Up For Ever, Smoky Lash (and it’s waterproof counterpart, Aqua Smoky Lash) is said to offer volume, length and intense pigment. I agree that volume and intense pigment are defintely there in this product. It is a bit goopy to apply, but that adds thickness to my sparse lashes, so I don’t mind. It stays put and works beautifully. I wouldn’t mind using a lengthening primer with this mascara, however, because I feel that this mascara does not excel in that field. I would prefer if there was some way to incorporate fibers into this mascara (like my beloved NYX Doll Eye Mascara), but overall I’m very happy with my $22 purchase.

The aforementioned wise MUA also suggested that I don’t wear this waterproof formula every day, as apparently waterproof mascaras are not the best for your lashes. Good to know!
